As part of the intercultural weeks<\/a>\u00a0in the city of Regensburg (September 12 to October 9, 2022), the civil initiative Asylum Regensburg (BI Asyl) organised an interactive information and discussion event about the new right of residence act \"Chancen-Aufenthaltsrecht\" (ChaR) in Germany. The ChAR law aims at improving the right to stay and was agreed upon by the current coalition. In order to meet these expectations, however, there is a clear need for improvement. Due to many exclusion criteria and deficiencies in the draft, only a small portion of eligible refugees would receive a residence permit. The event was attended by refugees as well as by those who provided the impetus. Markus Merkl, head of human resources at Max Frank Group GmbH & Co. KG, was invited. The members of the Bundestag of the current coalition answered some questions about the implementation of the ChAR law to the participants of the event. Represented were Dr. Carolin Wagner (SPD, Regensburg), Stefan Schmidt (B\u00fcndnis 90\/Gr\u00fcne, Regensburg) and Muhanad Al-Halak <\/strong>(FDP, Grafenau). Im Rahmen der interkulturellen Wochen\u00a0der Stadt Regensburg vom 12. September bis 9. Oktober 2022 organisierte die B\u00fcrger_innen-Initiative Asyl Regensburg (BI Asyl) eine interaktive Info- und Gespr\u00e4chsveranstaltung zum geplante „Chancen-Aufenthaltsrechtsgesetz (ChAR)“. Das ChAR-Gesetz zielt auf eine Bleiberechtsverbesserung und wurde im Ampel-Koalitionsvertrags vereinbart. Um diesen Erwartungen gerecht zu werden, besteht allerdings deutlicher Nachbesserungsbedarf. Wegen vieler Ausschlusskriterien und M\u00e4ngel im Entwurf w\u00fcrde nur ein kleiner Teil der in Frage kommenden Gefl\u00fcchteten eine Aufenthaltserlaubnis erhalten. Genauere Informationen hat BI Asyl in ihrer Stellungnahme ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Auf der Veranstaltung waren sowohl Gefl\u00fcchtete als Impulsgeber:innen anwesend.
