situation<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most relevant target groups for tackling youth unemployment in Southern Europe are young people who are not in education, employment or training (\"NEET: Not in Education, Employment or Training\").\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So far, services have been more oriented towards the perceived deficits of young people than towards the needs of enterprises, especially small enterprises and the matching between young people and enterprises. In addition, there was a lack of cooperation between the education system and employers, which limited early and efficient intervention.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Target groups and their benefits<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NEETS project targets students between 15 and 24 years of age and the relevant stakeholders, including enterprises, schools, companies, municipalities and educational institutions. Preventive measures were developed for students at increased risk of NEETS, so that the smooth transition into living wage employment was improved and the skilled labour needs of small businesses were better met. <\/span><\/p><p><strong>Project goal<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NEETS project aimed to identify young people at an early stage who are at risk of falling out of the education, training and employment system. The focus of the NEETS project was on prevention, which is why cooperation and exchange between schools, employers, VET providers and municipalities was strengthened. For this purpose, handouts and practical materials were developed on the basis of an analysis of the current practice of the actors.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Role of ISOB<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ISOB supports the development of a guide for the organisation of internships for the better integration of young people. ISOB is also responsible for quality assurance and internal evaluation of the NEETS project.
