care skills for employees in healthcare institutions. The existing eLearning offers were limited to MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and had a high dropout rate. Training communication skills with patients required the presence of a trainer and was very time-consuming and costly. The SurgicalCOMM project aimed to create a solution that would also work without the trainer\u2019s presence and thereby improve the overall quality of healthcare services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Target groups and their benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ui-provider ga b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">The target group of the SurgicalCOMM project consisted of medical students and active healthcare professionals who wanted to improve their skills in patient communication and care. In particular, the training focused on communication in connection with surgical procedures, where a high level of sensitivity towards patients is required.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Project goal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The project aimed to develop a virtual simulation tool based on artificial intelligence to improve the communication and decision-making skills of healthcare professionals in the surgical field. In this way, the quality of healthcare services was to be enhanced. Concrete results included a digital platform for training communication and decision-making skills, as well as higher effectiveness compared to traditional methods.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role of ISOB<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ISOB was responsible for quality control and evaluation within the SurgicalCOMM project and also supported the dissemination of the project
